How it Works
One-on-one and group lessons are available with lifelong experienced surfers who have been trained to teach the basics and beyond to a wide variety of skill levels of surfing.
Surf Camp Owner and Founder Alec Zappone has created and implemented a 6-step process to surfing that has proven over the past 5 years to almost guarantee first time students get up and ride a wave their first session, as well as expand an experienced surfers technique by following the proper form found in these 6 steps. Proper form and technique will last a lifetime.
At WSMS Camp we teach our lessons for future independence in the ocean, our goal is to get our students to a place where they can grab a board and go out on their own.
First time students will always receive a 20-30 minute land lesson going over: Board Anatomy, Board Positioning, Safely Entering & Exiting the ocean with a board, Session size-up or water awareness, Ocean conditions based on swell & tide, and lastly the 6 step “Pop Up” Process.
Returning or experienced students will practice pop-up techniques followed by some Q&As with the instructor before heading out.
Each student will be supplied with a board and leash that fits their size and skill level.
Students are required to be 4 years or older and know how to swim.
